If the latest 2011 Saab 9-5 is any indication as to where the brand is going, then I would say they are in certain doom of just becoming another over priced, run-of-the-mill luxo-garbage. There is nothing inspiring or emotion evoking about their current designs and their performance is subpar. Luckily for them, their savior has arrived, it's name is the Boreas Concept and it is one sexy mutha! This concept comes our way by Spanish designer, Jorge Marti Vidal and it serves as a proposal for future Saab models. The concept's namesake, the Boreas, mean the God of north winds and brings winters in ancient Greek Mythology.
There currently isn't a coupe variant offered from Saab, which is the void that this concept would fulfill, so it is like a breathe of fresh air for the brand. The Boreas is extremely classy and elegant as well as aggressive and sporty. The design cues of the car give a sporty and athletic overall look, which is something that we haven't seen in a Saab until now. A key element to this vehicle is the abundant power that lies underneath as well as the responsible fuel economy it intends to boast. For more information on the
Boreas Concept check out Jorge's blog.
