You have your exotics, your muscle cars and your sports cars. But where do the almost to good to drive automobiles come into play? The concept category of course! Concepts are cars that meld the worlds of design, beauty and elegance with the idea that one day they will have to be driven. The AMV-R Supercar Concept is a design exercise by Toronto, Canada native and 3rd year design student, Alexei Mikhailov, that melds all the theories of concept cars together and absolutely takes it to the next level. AMV-R stands for auto.motive.visual.racing. It's a project that took Alexei three years to envision and the work speaks for itself.
The thesis for the AMV-R supercar was a design, which visually entices senses of emotion through the physical world. You can definitely notice the smattering of both the German and Italian automotive design cues throughout the car with an emphasis on function over form using light weight materials like carbon fiber and aerodynamic body panels, while still maintaining overall beauty. The said powerplant on this work of art would be a "highly efficient twin turbo V10 engine, generating 850bhp." His work depicts his high level of talent and passion for designing gorgeous automobiles with performance in mind. You can check out Alexei's portfolio at www.amv-design.com. Can Pagani hire this guy already!?!
