Tesla has finally released some information regarding pricing and delivery dates of their long-awaited Model S.
Here's how the pricing goes as stated by Tesla Motor Co.:
Model S 160 (base model)
- Est 160 miles of driving on a single charge
- MSRP of $57,400 (with a $7,500 federal tax credit)
Model S 230 (extended range)
- Est 230 miles of driving on a single charge
- MSRP of $67,400 (with a $7,500 federal tax credit)
Model S 300 (Signature Series, super extended range)
- Est 300 miles of driving on a single charge
- MSRP of $77,400 (with a $7,500 federal tax credit)
- Limited production of 1,000 vehicle for the US
Seems like an extra $10k is a substantial bump for a bit more mileage, but if you need the extended range it may be worthwhile.
Tesla also announced that the Model S deliveries will begin in Summer of 2012 for the base Model S, while the higher-end Model S vehicles may take a bit longer. They've slated a sales total of 5,000 vehicles in 2012, pushing that total to 20,000 for the following year. I wonder how many Model S' are on pre-order as of right now...
