It appears as if Land Rover is finally realizing the potential and marketability of a sport luxury hybrid, and in good time too!

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this week, the new Range_E is the company's first true dabble into the hybrid world. Packed with their famous off-road capabilities, the leaner Range_E is slated to accomplish everything the standard Range Rover does, except without burning a deep hole in your fuel fund. Land Rover plans to power this hybrid with a diesel engine, probably for extending the range of travel and matching the Range Rover Sport's torque output. It's slated to be a plug-in hybrid, which means you'll have to fuel up the truck with some juice as well as diesel fuel.

This concept arrives in good time too, considering the price of petrol is still rising with no sign of relief in sight (yes, it will fall into production very soon). Check out some of the driving shots in the video below (ht to NextgenAuto)
