Porsche 911 GT3 Fondled By Motorweek

Posted by joeybabz

Dubbed the road variant of Porsche's GT3 Cup Car, the 911 GT3 is the closest thing you can get to a street legal, full blown race car. A lot has changed from the 2007 model, most notably, a brand new power plant. Porsche gave the new 911 GT3 a fiery 3.8-liter inline-six that produces 435bhp and 317ft-lb of torque. Those power increases are good enough to send the Porsche to 62mph in just 4.1 seconds and allows it to stretch it's legs to 194mph. Further improvements include LED daytime running lights all around, bi-xenon headlamps, reworked aerodynamics in the front facade and rear spoiler and a front leveling system that allows the car to be risen for those pesky driveways. Porsche has even gone so far as to include a magnetic engine mount dampening system to keep all 3.8 liters of beef stable while on the track. The new 911 GT3 is the most track worthy, street legal car Porsche has ever produced. Start saving your pennies because smiles will cost you $114,450. Ahhh just listen to that center-mounted exhaust note.
