One of the most aesthetic representations of a pure driving experience, Wiesmann has chosen the Geneva Auto Show to debut the result of their in-depth design study. It's called the Spyder Concept and we suggest you remove any headgear before you get behind the wheel because "pure" means no windows you prima donna!
It may seem as a given for every gearhead, but Wiesmann's philosophy is potent power and light weight materials are behind every car they have a hand in and this concept is no different. The Spyder Concept weighs just over 2,200lbs, makes the jump to 62mph in just under four seconds and achieves a top speed of over 180mph. Wow.
The Spyder Concept represents a number of things for the Wiesmann brand. It shows off some of the companies earlier design language, displays their ability to incorporate some of today's hottest trends in automotive design into their very own designs and it's an authoritative answer to many of their customer requests. Their buyers have been asking them for an extreme purist model and it looks like they handsomely delivered it on a smurf blue platter. No word of whether or not the Wiesmann boys will put the Spyder into production yet but expect it to arrive late 2012 should they decide to do so.
