BMW Nazca C2 Concept Is Revived By Sabino Leerentveld

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Italdesign’s iconic BMW Nazca C2 Concept that debuted at the 1992 Tokyo Motor Show, Dutch designer Sabino Leerentveld has created a modern interpretation of the concept. The BMW Nazca C2 Concept made its mark when it arrived on the automotive scene in Tokyo with an Alpina-tuned 5.0-liter V12 that produced 350bhp and 350lb-ft of torque. That is certainly laughable by today's standards but for 1992, that was supercar nomenclature. Despite a "modest" amount of power, the supercoupe made the sprint to 60mph in just 3.7 seconds and achieved a top speed of 203mph. Take that 2011!

The modern day interpretation features many design cues from modern day BMW's, EfficientDynamics design language and a sleek and sexy roofline. No power numbers or lap times are available on this vehicle but comparing this car to it's 1992 counterpart it would be hard to beat that level of performance today. With the BMW EfficientDynamics Concept going into production, it looks like we might just get a look at the modern day BMW Nazca C2. My how time flies.
