Audi Quattro Concept Test Drive By Auto Week

Posted by joeybabz 0

Audi turned heads, and made other automakers shake their heads, when they introduced the Audi Quattro Concept this year at the Paris Auto Show. The Audi Quattro Concept marks the 30th birthday of Audi's infamous quattro all-wheel drive system and signifies the return of the iconic Sport Quattro car, which was made by Audi to compete in rally championship races.

The car sits on a chopped RS5 platform made entirely out of a custom aluminum spaceframe architecture along with other light weight materials, like carbon fiber. The Quattro Concept is powered by a 408bhp turbocharged five-cylinder motor, matted to a manual six-speed gearbox. This is a similar set up used in the Sport Quattro that saves space and reduces the overall weight in the car. All of these modern day technologies meshed with the design ideology of yesterday are good for propelling the Quattro Concept to 62mph in a scant 3.9 seconds.

Auto Week's Mr. Frank Jacobs changes his surroundings from the frosty Netherlands for the sun stricken California coastline in order to give the Audi Quattro Concept a proper test drive. And for all you native speakers, the subtitles will do you no wrong!
